THE CONTEXT

EKHAYA
The creative goal was to craft a brand identity that honors Zimbabwean heritage while appealing to a modern, global audience. This project called for a visual language that felt rooted yet refined, symbolic yet simple—something that could carry both emotional weight and everyday utility.

THE PROCESS
The brand identity centers on a bold, timeless wordmark where every detail holds meaning:

Typography: A strong serif typeface anchors the brand in tradition, signaling authenticity, sophistication, and cultural pride.

Framing Device: A minimalist rectangular box surrounds the logotype—representing structure, hospitality, and a grounded sense of home.

Tree Symbol: The tree growing from the “H” is a direct nod to Zimbabwe’s relationship with land, growth, and nourishment. It acts as a cultural beacon within the logo, rooting the brand in story and place.
This visual system was expanded across supporting elements, including drink coasters and promotional graphics, using a rich, earthy palette and elegant typographic treatments. All assets were developed in Adobe Photoshop, with special attention to texture, contrast, and mockup realism to bring the brand to life.
